I am always read Gena Showalter books
— Abigail Books Addiction

I have always been a fan of Gena Showalter books. She was the one that got me into fantasy books in the first place. And I am even more excited to read the next book in the Rise of the Warlords series.

Get ready for the battle of the year. Halo is a master in winning all battles, so it’s no surprise for his next challenge. What he did not expect is find his soulmate aka feisty harper warrior Ophelia. She may be disappointed in her family, but that does not mean she does not have other qualities. She may not know it yet, but happiness is better achieved when it’s your dream. That’s something Halo and Ophelia will figure out when they continue the battle against the enemy.

I was kinda excited to read the next book in the Rise of the Warlords series. But after finishing the book, I kinda felt conflicted with this book. I was not invested with this book couple as I usually am when I read Gena Showalter books. I just did not feel the character chemistry for each other. I felt it was too forced on my end. It’s not a bad thing. It was just a letdown.
