I was very surprise how much I really enjoy Beach Read. I thought that it would be typical love/hate story but it’s not. There is more to it than it is. And I fucking happy that I read Beach Read.
January is lost in the beginning of Beach Read. She has discover some things about her father that makes her questions about her life. Like wouldn’t. When you experience a lost, things change. It can never go back as it was especially when you discover secrets along the way. And January is just trying to figure out day by day what’s going on. I appreciate how really January is because it shows how much losing someone can change your life unexpectedly. And it does not help that she keeps running into Augustus (frenemies) and her late-father mistress.
Her life is bit of doozy. But hey, that’s life for you. And she keeps on rolling.
Augustus may be unexpected but definitely good surprise. He brings life back to her temporary but it’s a start. And it does help that he has incredible crush on her for years. It’s too cute. We may not know it since he is acting like the typical man by acting rude and sarcastic with her. But you definitely see the sparks between them.
Their relationship will start off slow. But it’s a good thing because they are both handling things in their life. It’s best to handle things before starting a new beginning. Plus, January needs to figure out her emotions concerning with her father. Sometimes it takes a long time to past through.
