I got to say I was expecting a little more out of Portrait of a Scotsman. I heard so many great reviews online, so my expectations were high. Yet, I was a bit disappointed after finishing the book. It was not my cup of tea whenever I read historical romance books. I tend to love reading a more fast-paced historical romance than a slow-paced historical romance. I usually lose attention when it's slow-paced. But if you like reading a slow-paced historical romance, then give a Portrait of a Scotsman a chance. It's just not for me. Don't hate it.
