This may be an unpopular opinion, but this book wasn’t it. Sorry to disappoint, but I just wasn't as into the book as everyone else. I will fully state why this book isn’t it. It may disappoint a lot of people, but it really needs to be said.
If you don’t want any spoilers, then avoid reading this review. I am going to spoil a lot of things, so be warned.
Let’s talk about Forget Me Not. It was described as a heartwarming second-chance romance story with a bit of Reylo vibes from a few books. However, I didn’t even get that at all. Nothing like it was described. I felt very shocked because this book wasn’t the same book that everyone was raving about all over Instagram and TikTok.
Wondering why I was shocked? Because the two main characters didn’t speak to each other throughout the whole book in the present time. Literally, they never had a conversation for that whole year while they both worked on the wedding together. They were exes, and they haven’t seen each other for some years. So it was a bit expected for them to act awkward or not talk to each other at first. But they literally did not talk to each other until the very end. Literally, the end of the chapters and epilogue. How is that second-chance romance where they didn’t speak to each other? Please explain it to me.
And don’t start their past chapters. Yes, you heard me: past chapters. This book is split into two timelines: the past and the present. And the povs are between the main chapter and the love interest. It is pretty ridiculous, if you are asking me. In their past chapters, they weren’t really into a relationship, per se. And I kind of felt bad for the love interest. He thought they were more than a fling, and it’s pretty selfish for the main character to never explain what they were both entitled to. I don’t support this relationship at all.
