I really enjoyed reading Well-Behaved Indian Women because we get to know how these three women struggle through life as a woman and as a Indian woman. It’s really a struggle for them because there are always expectations for them but we get to read about how they are willing to change as time evolves.
Simran has always gone for what she wants even when her parents don’t approve. But she will learn as she goes through life that her views change when she becomes close to another writer. It’s expected, life is always changing even when you don’t want to. And that’s what Simran is going to learn especially when her relationship with her mother is changing too.
It’s hard for mothers to maintain a relationship with their daughter. It will always be complicated no matter what. And that’s what Nandini is struggling with especially since she does not have a great relationship with her own mother. But it’s best to learn from it especially since her mother, Mimi, is learning from it too.
