will bring two former lovers reunited again, but something is different
— Abigail Books Addiction

I’m going to be honest with you. I’m a bit hesitant to read this book. I know, I know. A lot of people love her books so much, but I don’t like the cheating trope that she has in her two previous books. It’s a trope that’s a no-no for me. I don’t like reading about cheating at all, especially in romance books. So I had low expectations regarding this book. And thankfully, I did, because I ended up liking this book more than her previous books. It feels more like a romance book.

Now let’s talk about this book. This Summer Will Be Different will bring two former lovers reunited again, but something is different. There is a lot more tension and feelings involved, especially whenever Lucy and Felix are in the same room.

Lucy and Felix may have hooked up with each other whenever they saw each other throughout the years, but it’s different now. Felix isn’t following the usual routine. He is more moody and distant from her. It’s really eye-opening for Lucy because she has her own troubled feelings regarding him. She doesn’t even want to see him. She was literally forced to be on the same island with him since her best friend and his sister, Bridget, suddenly fled before her wedding.

Lucy begins to wonder what’s going on with her life when she tries to comfort Bridget and deals with a different Felix than before. She doesn’t know if she can be her true self. She always hidden a part of herself just in case. She doesn’t want to break her heart, even though she may be denying her true happiness with Felix. Unexpected things are bound to happen between them.
