Just from the marketing campaign, I literally knew that I needed to read this in my hands right away. Thankfully, I was able to receive a print arc and read it early on. And I got to say that I have so many feelings regarding The Serpent and the Wolf. Let’s start talking about it.
Before you read any further, I won’t be giving too many spoilers, but there will be details that may be a little spoiler. Just a heads up if you don’t want to be spoilt at all. Back to track, let’s start talking about my feelings with The Serpent and the Wolf.
First, I always love reading romantasy, especially in the fall season. And this book is definitely romantasy through and through! It’s literally the best romance to read in the season. It has fantasy, romance, tension, longing, spice, banter, and the betrayals.
Second, the main two characters, Vaasa and Reid, chemistry with each other is literally off the charts. There is no denying that there is something between them. It may be hatred, annoyance, longing, jealousy, or maybe love. Who knows?!? The chemistry is just there.
Third, the banter between Vaasa and Reid is way too entertaining that it made me giggle half the time or yell the other times. They keep going off of each other. What can they say? They aren’t really liking each other too much since they are from two different kingdoms.
Fourth, the longing and tension building up between Vaasa and Reid has me reading every page until something happens. It’s literally too much for me that I am constantly rooting for them to be together already. Yes, they may be rivals, but they are meant for each other. The chemistry and understanding are undeniable between Vaasa and Reid.
Lastly, the wicked world-building surrounding Vaasa and Reid is so enthralling that I want more. I need to know what else is in play because things aren’t adding up. I need more, please.
If you love reading about romantasy with deadly witches and warriors, then you will love this book very much. Plus, the banter and longing between Vaasa and Reid will have you on a chokehold until something happens.
